These are the terms of service for Get Stack Smart ("the site", "we", "us"). They cover what you can and cannot do with the content here, and what you can expect from us. The plain-English version: read freely, share generously, do not republish wholesale, and treat the advice as opinion not professional guidance.

Acceptance

By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms occasionally; the date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

What the site is

Get Stack Smart is a one-person review site for solopreneurs. We publish opinionated reviews of software tools, articles about running a one-person business, and a quiz that recommends tools based on your answers. Everything on the site is the author's opinion, based on direct use of the tools and conversations with other solo operators.

Use of content

You are welcome to:

• Read the site freely, on any device, without an account
• Share links to articles or reviews on social media or in newsletters
• Quote short passages with attribution and a link back
• Print articles for personal reference (the site supports a printable view)

You may not:

• Republish full articles or reviews without written permission
• Train AI models on the content of the site
• Scrape the site at scale or in ways that interfere with normal operation
• Misrepresent the site's opinions as your own

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on the site are affiliate links. When you click through and sign up to a recommended tool, the tool may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we have personally used and would recommend to a friend.

A tool's affiliate program does not buy a recommendation. The reviews are honest and critical where appropriate. If we have ever taken a tool down or revised a review based on direct user feedback, we have done so without consulting the affiliate relationship. The advice on the site is not professional advice

Articles and reviews on the site are opinion and field notes from a single operator. They are not legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, or medical advice. If you are making a meaningful business decision based on something you read here, consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.

Specifically, articles touching on incorporation, taxes, pricing, or contracts are starting points for your thinking, not substitutes for an accountant or lawyer.

Tool reviews

Tool reviews reflect the state of each product at the time of writing or last update, shown as "Last reviewed" on each review page. Tools change. Pricing changes. Features ship and get sunset. We aim to keep reviews current but do not guarantee they reflect today's product. Verify pricing and features on the tool's own site before purchasing.

The quiz and recommendations

The quiz produces tool recommendations based on a rules-based engine matching your answers to a curated set of tools. The output is a starting point for research, not a definitive answer. Your business is unique. Treat the recommendations as suggestions to investigate, not as decisions made.

No warranty

The site is provided as-is. We do not warrant that the content is free of errors, or that the site will be available without interruption. We do our best on both, but small mistakes and occasional outages happen. If you spot something genuinely wrong, please let us know.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the content on it. If you act on advice or information from the site and the result is unfavourable, that is on you, not us. This limitation does not affect your statutory consumer rights under UK or EU law.

Intellectual property

All original content on the site (articles, reviews, illustrations, the brand mark, the design) is owned by Get Stack Smart unless otherwise indicated. Tool logos and product screenshots remain the property of their respective owners and are used under fair use for review purposes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are accessing the site from outside the UK, applicable consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction may also apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced on the site with a revision date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
